William Sulcer Obituary

William Dale Sulcer, 85, of Rochester, IL passed away at Taylorville Memorial Hospital at 5:10AM on September 25, 2020.

Dale was born on July 1, 1935 in Waltonville, IL the son of Waymen Sulcer and Carrie Lemons Dycus.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister in law, Jackie Hofer; brother in law, Herschel Hofer; niece, Janice Hofer; nephew, Arthur Hofer; and uncle, Arley Lemons.  

 

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Johnston Sulcer; his son Gary Sulcer (wife, Loretta); granddaughter, Jillian Sulcer Sporrer (husband, Todd) of Port Charlotte, FL; great grandson, Bekam Sporrer; grandson, Tyssen Sulcer of Fort Collins, CO; cousin, Marvin Ray Elliston (wife, Shelby); nephew, David Hofer (wife, Susan); niece, Rosalee Hofer (husband, Elbert).

Dale retired from the IL Department of Transportation after 32 years of dedicated service. He was an avid bird and deer hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed field trails, trap and skeet shooting with his Pointers and Brittany Spaniels. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and he enjoyed going to church. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.   

Graveside services will be held at Rochester Cemetery in Rochester, IL on Tuesday October 6th, 2020 at 2:00PM. Pastor Brad Ferris of the Rochester Christian Church will be officiating. There will be a meal following in the Family Life Center at the Rochester Christian Church.

Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester is in charge of arrangements.
