Stephanie Kennedy Obituary

Stephanie Ann Kennedy, 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 13, 2021 at her home in Springfield, IL.

 

Stephanie was born on September 15, 1949, in Highland, IL, the daughter of William and June (Hessick) Hentze. She married George Kennedy on August 3, 1974. A passionate teacher with a love of young people, Stephanie taught third grade at Rochester Elementary School for many years. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother who took great joy in family time. Stephanie was a member of Chatham Presbyterian Church.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents.

 

Stephanie is survived by her husband, George; son, Jonathan Kennedy (Monica Richards); and daughter Elizabeth Kennedy (Neal Roese); two grandchildren, Emmett and Hudson Kennedy; two brothers, Bill and Paul Hentze, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 19, from 2:00-4:00PM at Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St, in Rochester, IL. Memorial services will be held on Monday, December 20, at 10:00AM at the funeral home. Guests are encouraged to wear masks and observe COVID-19 guidelines.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Les Turner ALS Foundation, 5550 W Touhy Ave, Skokie, IL 60077 (lesturnerals.org).
