Obituary

Shirley Ann Birkman, 80, of Springfield, IL passed away on April 20, 2023. Shirley was born in Houston, Texas and was the daughter of Vincent E. SR. and Bertha F. Birkman.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her sister, June Lumpkin (John); sister, Nancy Matheis (Jim); brother, Vincent Birkman JR. (Lisa); as well as numerous Nieces, Nephews, and extended family members.

Shirley was a loving daughter and sister. She enjoyed baking cakes in her younger days and even had a small business baking for a time. She also loved to sing and was involved in various choirs and organizations in the Springfield Area. Shirley was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Springfield.

Visitation will be held on Saturday May 6, 2023 at Concordia Lutheran Church, 2300 E Wilshire Rd, Springfield, IL 62703 from 10:00am to 11:00am, followed by a Memorial Service.

Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church.

Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
