Mary Culler Obituary

Mary Lynn Culler, age 85 of Springfield, passed away on April 14, 2022 at Carriage Crossing Senior Living of Taylorville. She was born in Springfield, IL on March 30, 1937 to Henry and Clara L. (Long) Gebben.

    She married Arthur F. Culler in 1987. He preceded her in death in 2004. She is also preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Hank, and sister-in-law, Cinda Gebben.

    Mary Lynn attended Springfield High School, Brown Business College, and retired from City, Water, Light, and Power in 1992. She is survived by her three sons, Harold H. Patterson, Michael D. Patterson, and Daniel S. (Renee) Patterson of Springfield, her brother Phillip B. Gebben of Springfield, granddaughter Stephanie Patterson, grandson TJ Patterson, her niece, Megan, and nephew, Brendan.

    Mary Lynn was an active member of her community, being a proud participant in multiple groups and organizations over the years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Amaranth, Lalla Rookh Eastern Star, Abeba Temple no. 42, past Queen 2001 Daughters of the Nile, White Shrine Abraham Lincoln, past President IBT Sunday School, past Vice President Church Women United, past President Marjorie Post Circle Kings Daughter, Head Up Devotion for Kings Daughter, President of Ansarettes, The Lions Club, American Business Women Assoc. Land of Lincoln Chapter #425, Academy of Life Long Learning, Prairie State Red Hats, Survivors, Christian Women Connection, and board member and Assistant Treasurer of AARP Chapter 195.

    Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. No public visitation will be held. Burial will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery, attended by family.
