Louise P. Taplin, 90, of Springfield IL, passed away on Tuesday January 28, 2020 at her home while in the company of her family.
Lou was born on January 25, 1930 in Hopewell VA, the daughter of John “Knight” Eanaes and Elizabeth (Eades) Atkinson.
She was preceded in death by her son, Paul, her parents, 3 sisters, and her business partner in crime, Helen Austin.
Lou is survived by Jim and Kay West of Springfield IL; 8 grandchildren, Paul Jr. (wife, Karin) Taplin, Shane (wife, Lori) Taplin, Dawn (husband, Anthony) Gayton, Michael (wife, Dawn) Taplin, Amanda (husband, Jamal) Alamari, Robert (wife, Ida) Poppenga, James Taplin, and Jordan Taplin; several adopted grandchildren, and her dog “Baby”.
Lou loved all animals, but especially her dogs. She enjoyed camping and fishing but loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals. She started working for the Hobbs Factory here in town but retired and then came to work as a Watkins Dealer for over 30 years.
Cremation services will be accorded and a graveside will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday February 3, 2020 Oak Hill Cemetery, 4688 Old Rte 36, outside Springfield IL,
There will be a luncheon at Trinity Church of the Nazarene 1108 Daniel Ave, Springfield, IL 62702 following the graveside services.
