James Fred Followell, 61, of Springfield, IL passed away at Memorial Medical Center on Sunday March 7, 2021.

James was born in Springfield, IL on December 30, 1959 the son of Bill and Genevieve (Durkin) Followell.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

James is survived by his children, Chad Handley of Springfield and Jamie Willhite (husband, Jeremiah) of Springfield; grandchildren, Chad Handley Jr., Anaiah Handley, Geneva Willhite, and Gracelyn Willhite; siblings, Philip Followell of Springfield, Peter Followell of Springfield, Collen Followell of Louisiana; girlfriend, Dawn Mayoral of Springfield; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

James enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending lots of time outdoors. He loved riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He also enjoyed playing the slot machines.

James loved his family and friends and was always laughing and in good spirits.

Cremation services are being accorded and a Celebration of Life will be announced.
