Obituary

Gayla E. (Hysler) Stone, 63, of Spaulding, IL passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday August 16, 2023.

Gayla was born in Springfield on March 14, 1960. She graduated from Southeast High School. She spent most of her life in the Riverton area.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Hysler; father, Alvin Hysler and her grandson, Cooper Mueller.

Gayla is survived by her husband, Chuck Stone; sons, Steven (Darrelle) Mueller, Shawn (Rachael) Mueller; bothers Danny and Greg Hysler; five grandchildren; daughter in law, Marissa (Chris) Stratton; son in law, Benjamin (Crystal) Stone; as well as extended family.

Gayla was employed by the Clear Lake Township, Williamsville State Bank and her most rewarding career at the Central Illinois Food Bank. She enjoyed her family and grandchildren, friends, flea marketing, glamping, sewing and gaming. Gayla also spearheaded the renovation of the Clear Lake Township Veterans Memorial, organized some of Riverton's finest Riverfest Celebrations and was an early fundraiser for the "Field of Dreams" park in Riverton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society. Services will be announced at a later date.
