Eddy A. Ekis Sr., 57, of Dawson, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 at his residence.

Eddy was born on June 13, 1961 in Springfield the son of Harvey and Theresa Miller Ekis. He married Tonia Skaggs in 1985.

Eddy worked as a paper carrier for the State Journal Register for over 35 years. He enjoyed working on and collecting antique tractors. Eddy was loved by everyone in his neighborhood and he was always there to help.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Tonia; daughter, Vanessa Ekis of Dawson; sons, Eddy (Barbie) Ekis Jr. of Illiopolis, Jonny and Jacob Ekis both of Dawson; grandchildren, Zach Kingery, Emma, Zara and Rylan Ekis and Drake Prior; and great-granddaughter, Dacie Kingery.

Cremation will be accorded. No services at this time.
