David Kirby Warren, 68, of Springfield, passed away on Friday April 1, 2022.
David was born on November 8, 1953 the son of Frank and Mary (Conlon) Warren.
David worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier, retiring after 35 years of service. He had a connection with the funeral home because it was on his route for 10 years. He enjoyed talking with the people who worked in the funeral home.
His favorite pastime was playing No Limited Texas Hold-Em. He loved going to concerts with his children, and has seen Heart, ZZ Top, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Joe Walsh. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, tennis, and having fish fry’s with his family. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed attending his granddaughter’s academic and sporting events. He enjoyed watching movies about bank robberies and westerns. He also enjoyed going to car shows. He loved making his chili and having old fashion wiener roasts.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
His is survived by his children, Joshua David (Mischa) Warren of Chatham and Courtney Lynn Warren of Washington D.C.; granddaughters, Mia and Kileigh Warren; brother, Steve (Phyllis) Warren of Petersburg; sisters Janice (Rod) Stewart of Florida, Joyce (Rich Newman) Warren and Mary Warren both of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Thursday April 7, 2022 at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home, 530 North 5th St. Springfield, IL 62702 from 11:00am till the time of the Celebration of Life at 12:00noon. Reverend Larry Hanson will be officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
