Cynthia Kaye Wheeler “Cindy”, 73, a lifelong resident of Springfield, passed away April 20, 2023 at home surrounded by family.
Cindy was born March 15, 1950 to Billie M. Ruhl and Kenneth R. Wheeler. She attended Enos Elementary, Grant Middle School and Springfield High School. After being a homemaker with her 4 oldest children she graduated from Capital Area School of Practical Nursing in 1981. She went on to have 2 more children while working as an LPN. As a nurse she worked primarily caring for patients in their homes and at long term care facilities.
Cindy had a youthful spirit and was a devoted nurse and mother to her 6 children of which she was very proud. She was also a mother figure to several others that she took in to her home over the years. She was known to put her children and work life ahead of herself. She was also known for her green thumb and her many pets which at times included goats, chickens, rabbits, roosters, dogs and cats. Other interests of her’s were Chevy Novas, Harley Davidson motorcycles and collecting angel figurines.
Because of her love for her family she fought her illness every step of the way and was still making future plans. We were very fortunate to be able to bring her home and care for her ourselves during much of the last few months of her life and will treasure that time always.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents and her half sisters Theresa and Patty Grant (Wheeler) and is survived by her husband Floyd Feagans, 6 children: Kyle Graham (Linda), Cathie Paisley (Paul), Karen Earl (George), Gary Anderson Jr (Samantha), Crystal Micheletta (Mikey), and Jacob Barnard, 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren plus 1 on the way, 3 nieces and first cousins Marla and Carolyn.
Memorial contributions can be made to a Gofundme account to help offset costs for her care and burial.
