Clyde Richard "Dickey" Hicks

Clyde Richard “Dickey” Hicks, 75, of Springfield, IL passed away on Sunday August 20, 2023 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.

Dickie was born in Pleasant Plains, IL on November 16, 1947 and was the son of James W. and Faye V. (Alexander) Hicks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Hicks; niece, Virginia Ann Tumulty; and great niece, Destiny Kling.

Dicky is survived by his brother, Danny Hicks (Judy) of Chatham; brother, Darrell Hicks (Connie) of Springfield; sister in law, Linda Rae Hicks of Springfield; brother, Dennis Hicks (Linda Sue) of Buffalo; and sister, Derlie Davis (Gary) of Springfield; as well as many beloved Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, and Great Nephews.

Dickey enjoyed southern gospel and bluegrass/ county music. He loved comedies and westerns, especially the Three Stooges, Jimmy Dean and Dean Martin. Dickie was also a huge flirt and enjoyed holding the ladies’ hands. He had an infectious laugh that everyone knew. One of his favorite things to do was to tear pages out of the yellow phonebook.  

He loved attending East Keys Baptist Church of Springfield. Dicky loved his family.

A visitation for Dickey will be held on Friday August 25, 2023 at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home, 530 North 5th St. Springfield, IL 62702 from 10:00am till the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Pleasant Plains Cemetery where Dickie will be laid to rest.
