Charles L Cummings Jr.

Charles L Cummings Jr., 31, of Nokomis, IL passed away on Wednesday December 8, 2021. Charles was born in Springfield, IL on February 19, 1990 the son Charles L. Cummings Sr. and Melissa R. (Patterson) Peterson.

He was preceded in death by his sister Kayliegh R. Cummings in 2007; his grandparents, Charles A. and Barbara L. Cummings and Paul H. and Judy Mae Patterson.

Charles is survived by his mother, Melissa R. (Paul Anders Jr.) Peterson; father, Charles L. (Erica Cummings) Cummings Sr.; siblings, Kayla, Lindsay, Kenley, Lydia, Maria and Alyssa; his fiancé Kelly Walden; as well as many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many beloved friends.

Charles was born in Springfield, but he was raised and made many close friends in Bushnell, IL.

Charles loved playing his guitar and writing was his passion and gift from God. He also enjoyed night fishing and hanging out with his friends and family. Charles had a heart of gold and a giving heart. He would give someone his last dollar or dime if it helped give someone a leg up. A huge part of Charles’s life was his beloved sister and best friend Kayleigh. When God took his sister and called her home a huge hole and void was left in his life and heart. Although his life was cut short he lived his life loving God in his heart, making others laugh, lighting up a room with his contagious smile and fun energy, through songs and music. His love lives on through his music and his giving.

Cremation services were accorded by Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home in Springfield, IL.

Visitation will be held on Friday December 17, 2021 at New Beginnings Apostolic Church, 3121 E Elm St, Springfield, IL 62702 from 4:00pm till the time of the memorial service at 6:00pm.
