Bradley Churchill Obituary

Bradley Scott Churchill, 59, of Rochester, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at his home.

Brad was born in Springfield Illinois, on December 14, 1962, to James and Carole Churchill.

 

Brad was preceded in death by his father, James Churchill, Grandparents, John Churchill and Larry Churchill, Clarence Springer and Freda Springer.

 

Brad is survived by his Mother, Carole Churchill, brother, Brian (Lisa) Churchill, nephew Andrew Churchill, niece Molly Fahs and grand nieces and nephews.

 

Brad was a graduate of Rochester High School, and Northern Illinois University School of Meteorology.

 

Intrigued by his childhood fear of thunderstorms, Brad was always fascinated by the weather. He began his career working for Dr. Fujita “Mr. Tornado” at the University of Chicago. Later he worked for the National Weather Service (NWS).  Brad worked at the Tulsa and Oklahoma City offices and later coming home to work at the Lincoln Illinois office. Brad was part of the NWS forecast team for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.

 

Brad was a natural musician. He was first chair state in French horn and was an accomplished bass player. Brad was a former member of the Rochester Rescue Squad.

 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 30, from 5:00-7:00PM at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester.

Private family services will be held at a later date and burial will be at Rochester Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Rochester Fire Department.

Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester is in charge of arrangements.
