Beverly J (Fulton) Spicer

Beverly Spicer, 84 of Springfield, IL passed away on Wednesday, May 31st, 2023 at her residence in Columbia, IL.

Beverly was born in Springfield, IL on September 1st, 1938 the daughter of Ed and Verdie Fulton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Spicer; brother Bernard Fulton, sisters, Roberta Wallner, Joyce Brown, Donna Gleason and Carolyn Kinner and great grandson, Wyatt Wildhaber.

Beverly is survived by her children, daughter Leah (Gregg) Wildhaber; Robb (Lynn) Spicer; and daughter Jody Altun; grandchildren, Jessica (Joseph) Fortenberry, Ryan (Jordan) Spicer, Marc (Megan) Wildhaber, and David Hardwick; great grandchildren, Brayden Wildhaber, Cole Spicer, Carly Spicer, Maddie Wildhaber, Clayton Spicer, and Wesley Wildhaber; brother Bob Fulton and several loved family members and friends.

Beverly grew up in New Berlin, IL on a farm and graduated in 1957 from New Berlin High School. She married Robert (Bob) Spicer of Virden, IL on June 14, 1958.

Beverly and her husband made homes for their family in Iowa and several towns in Illinois. Beverly was a homemaker along with other jobs as a seamstress, store clerk, office assistant, caregiver and housekeeper.

Retirement brought her back to Springfield, IL to spend more time with her family. She enjoyed baking, sewing, shopping trips, bingo, camping, visiting family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her last year was spent in Columbia, Il near her son and daughter at Garden Place Senior Living, enjoying new activities and new friends.

Visitation for Beverly will be 9:30am -10:30am on Wednesday June 7, 2023 at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home (530 N. 5th St.) in Springfield. Burial will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery following the funeral service.
