Betty (Farley) Lawson (81) Rochester passed away at her home August 16, 2022 after battling many health related issues.
She was born March 25, 1941 to Mary Frances Abrams and John M. Laing at home in West Terre Haute, Indiana.
Betty retired from Illinois State Police in 2002. She was a member of the Rochester Christian Church and enjoyed doing volunteer work, football and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband James (Dick) Lawson, daughters Deborah (David) Tuttle, Rochester, Tammara (Jim) Wiker, Greenview, step-daughter Annette (Randy) Huddleston, Jacksonville; Grandchildren Kristy Matney (companion Robbie Greenburg), Amanda (Mike) Locke, Williamsville, Johnathan (Lacey) Reeves, Springfield and Brandon Jones (companion Ronna Owens), Kansas City, Kansas, step grandson Ryan Huddleston, Jacksonville; great grandchildren Coltan Matney and Isabelle Reeves and Kaedyn and Marleigh Locke; brothers John (Juanita) Laing, West Terre Haute, Indiana, and Robert Laing, Alton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Guests may come to Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 East Main St. Rochester, IL 62563 from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday, August 20. There will be no receiving line to greet the family but guests are still encouraged to come pay their respects to Betty. The funeral will be at 1:00pm with Pastor Brad Ferris officiating. A private burial will be at Rochester Cemetery.
