Benny Pat Lynd

Ben Patrick Lynd, 60, of Springfield, IL, passed away at his residence on Friday April 24, 2020.

Ben was born in Ironton, OH, on July 11, 1959 the son of Ben H. and Patricia (Welch) Lynd.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry (Holly) Lynd; his parents, Ben and Patricia of Ironton, OH; and sister, Cindy Lynd of Young Harris, GA.  

He is survived by his step-mother, June Lynd of New Smyrna Beach, FL; daughter Ashley (husband, William) Verry of Divernon, IL; daughter, Krystal Mitchell of Springfield, IL; brother, James Lynd of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Followell, Jasen Very, Tyler Allin, Vynessah Verry, Ashton Allin, Jordan Verry, Nevaeh Mitchell, and Willow Verry; nephews, Benjamin Geiger of Tampa, FL and Josh Irick of Young Harris, Ga; special friends Troy Groth and Jimmy Followell both of Springfield.

Ben enjoyed surfing, hunting, and spending time with his friends and family. He loved his cats, junking, telling jokes and watching golf.

Cremation services will be accorded by Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home and Cremation Services and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
