Albert Eugene "Gene" Tucker

Albert Eugene “Gene” Tucker, 78, of Rochester, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at his home.

Gene was born in Ramsey, IL, on January 21, 1945, the son of Albert and Edith (Manion) Tucker. He married Donna Plank on July 12, 1969 and she survives. Gene served in the US Army from 1967-1969 during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed woodworking, making furniture for his family, and loved being outside tinkering. Gene worked as GM Mechanic for Friendly Chevrolet, Truck Centers and S&K GMC.

He is preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Alberta, Alice, Mary, Keith and Donna Ruth; his two Siberian huskies, Bleu and Cocoa.

Gene is survived by his wife, Donna; daughters, Stacy Tucker and Marcy (Brian Blough) Tucker; one step grandson, Jakob Blough; two brothers, Ronald (Joanna) Tucker and Lester (Sherry) Tucker; three sisters, Shirley Henry, Norma Wells and Beverly Bromm, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 11:00AM at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL., where Gene will receive military honors.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project 230 W Monroe St Suite 200, Chicago, IL 60606.

Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St. in Rochester is in charge of arrangements.
