ROCHESTER, IL - Wilma Mines Bayer, 89, of Rochester, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center.
Wilma was born Aug. 29, 1926, in Sparta, the daughter of Ervin and Loriena Rabe Mines. She married Ernest Bayer; he preceded her in death in 1997.
Wilma was a homemaker and a member of Rochester United Methodist Church where she loved going on the J.O.Y. trips. She was also a member of the Rochester Historical Society, Questers, P.E.O., and Bunco Club.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary "Lisa" (Tom) Schroder and Kathy Williams; four grandchildren: Anna Burky, Derek Williams, Marie Barker and Jacob Schroder; and five great-grandchildren: Cody Burky, Madeline Barker, Wyatt Burky, Ernest Murray Schroder and William Gray Barker.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at Rochester United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kathy Sweet officiating.
Burial will follow at Rochester cemetery.
