SHERMAN, IL - William Lee Hinman, 93, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Heritage Health.

William was born on October 18, 1920, in Petersburg, the son of Walter Scott and Marcia Helen Rainey Hinman. He married Barbara Jo Mendenhall in 1946 in St. Charles, Mo.; she preceded him in death on October 27, 2011.

Mr. Hinman was a graduate of Springfield High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a self-employed contractor and a member of Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by three daughters, Sheryl Lee Hinman of Galesburg, Patty Chiles of Williamsville, and Debbie (husband, Brian) Dickson of Springfield; three grandchildren; and one great- granddaughter.

Private graveside services will be held at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
