PLEASANT PLAINS, IL - William "Bill" Harold Hand, 79, of Pleasant Plains, passed away Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center.

Bill was born Nov. 14, 1935, in Pleasant Plains, the son of William and Mabel Pyle Hand. He married Naomi J. Walton on April 21, 1957, at Ashland Baptist Church.

Bill was in the Air National Guard of Illinois for nine years and had been called to active duty during that time. He retired from Capital Plumbing and Heating as the warehouse foreman after 42 years. He was a member of Richland Creek Baptist Church where he also served as a deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Hand; and two sisters, Dorothy Turley and Gail Roberts.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi of Pleasant Plains; one son, Keith Hand; one daughter, Karen (Joe) Oldridge; one brother, Samuel Hand; one sister, Sandra Brown; two grandchildren, Chad (Haley) and Kristy Oldridge; one great-granddaughter, Pyper Oldridge; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, at Bethel Cemetery in Pleasant Plains with Pastors Keith Masten and Duane Turley officiating.
