William E. Gristy, 59, of Springfield passed away on June 7, 2024.

William was born in Springfield on November 12, 1964 and was the son of Claude and Katharina Gristy. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jerry and Richard Gristy; and a niece, Sarah Sergeant.

William is survived by his sister, Barbara Bingham; sister, Mary Sergeant (husband, Kenny); sister, Sue Gristy; brother, Joe Gristy; niece, Trina Hamilton; nephew, Josh Sergeant (wife Shannon); as well as many great nieces and nephews.

William was loving and kind. He loved to make people laugh and to always help someone if he could. He enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels Cars. William will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Cremation services are being accorded by Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home of Springfield, IL.
