William "Billy" Edward Costa Jr., 67 of Springfield passed away on Friday October 21st, 2022 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield after a long battle with cancer. He fought the good fight and is now at peace. He will be greatly missed.

Billy was born in Connecticut and was the son of William Edward Costa Sr. and Beverly Elaine (Price). Billy was also raised as a child in the Sothern California area where he enjoyed body surfing and served in the US Army 101st Airborne. Billy has lived in Springfield 32 years after following family here. He was a machinist and retired in 2017 due to disability.

Billy enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, honorary grandchildren, family, friends and his pet cats. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, riding his Harley and donating to various charities. Billy was a diehard Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Edward Costa Sr. of California; his mother, Beverly Elaine Heuchan and his step father, John Heuchan; sisters, Melinda and Rae Lynn Costa; and his nephew Jason Costa all of Springfield, IL.

Billy is survived by his loved ones, Beth A. Busch and family of Springfield, IL; his nephew, Shane Costa-Aine (Anita) and family of Tennessee; his niece, Nicole Costa of Springfield, IL and numerous family members in California and Connecticut.
