William E. Donaldson, 75 of Springfield, IL passed away at his residence on July 8, 2020 in the company of friends.

Bill was born in Springfield on March 12, 1945 the son of Earl and Opal (Washington) Donaldson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Gary Donaldson, Ruth Allen, Shirley Harwood, and Velma McMurray

Bill is survived by his close friends, Lisa Elfgen, Julia Elfgen, Logan Elfgen, as well as many other beloved friends in the community.

Bill was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He loved his dog Missy, but he also enjoyed riding his Honda Motorcycle and watching Star Trek. He would fix up cars in his younger years, but really enjoyed pickup trucks.

He used to say, "If you're looking into a mirror, are you looking in or are you looking out".

A private graveside service will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery on Tuesday July 14, 2020.

He will be greatly missed by his friends.
