William Ray Burris Sr., of Springfield, IL passed away in the company of his family on Friday October 4th, 2024.

Ray was born in Kentucky on July 14th, 1934 the son of James and Nonia Burris. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as two brothers; two sisters; and his son, W. Ray Burris Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Edith A. (Harbarth) Burris; two sons, Mike (Dawn) Burris, Kris (Tina Nutaut) Burris; daughter in law, Brenda Burris; two grandsons, Justin and Cory; six great grandchildren; one sister, Flora Piper; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation services will be accorded by Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home of Springfield.

A luncheon for family and friends will be held at 963 Kamm Rd. Springfield, IL 62707 on Saturday October 12th, 2024 from 11:00am – 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Almost Home Rescue.
