Willa Lorene Gidel, 92, of Illiopolis, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Willa was born on December 31, 1932, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Ernest and Mary (Converse) Stewart. She married Dale H. Gidel on August 7, 1954 in Mechanicsburg and he preceded her in death on March 14, 1988. Willa enjoyed taking care of her flowers and working in her yard.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Ivan and Calvin Stewart; three sisters, Lucille Carr, Lois Byerline, and Mary Ann Kaylor.

Willa is survived by her two sons, Greg (Suzanne) and Roger Gidel.

Graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery at 2:00PM on March 14, 2025.
