Virginia Ruth Winters, 79, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at St. John's Hospital.

Virginia was born on August 7, 1938 in Springfield.  She married John Paul Winters in 1958; he preceded her in death in 1991.

She worked for Horace Mann Insurance Company and later went on to GAB General Adjustment Bureau where she retired.  She enjoyed reading, computer games, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

She was in preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Julie; and son, Greg Winters.

She is survived by two sons, Jeff Winters of Springfield and John "Randy" Winters of Elsberry, MO; daughter-in-law, Mary Winters of Springfield; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Hanson officiating.  Burial will follow at Farmington Cemetery in Farmingdale.
