Virginia Mary Nelson, 79, of Rochester, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Eastland Retirement Community in Auburn, IL.

Virginia was born February 6, 1938 in Litchfield, the daughter of Frank and Mary Valites Wesley. She married Ian "Sandy" Nelson and they have been married for 60 years.

Virginia was a homemaker and a devoted mother; raising a son and two daughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Skip Wesley; and sister, Carol Ann Wesley.

She is survived by her husband, Sandy Nelson; son, Rob Nelson; two daughters, Carrie (Vern) Zachgo and Michelle (Mike) Carlisle; sister, Mary Lou (Mike) Sarti; five grandchildren, Katie (Cameron) Willoughby, Jonathan Nelson, Kimberly, Maria, and Michael Carlisle; and several nieces and nephews.

Private visitation will be from 9:45 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
