Velma Gooding, 102, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 at her residence.

Velma was born on January 9, 1916 in Granger, IA the daughter of William D. and Alice Skinner Stelle.  She married Jack Gooding Sr.; he preceded her in death on June 23, 1989.

She worked as a real estate agent retiring in 1978 after 20 years.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sons, Gary Jack and Thomas Gooding; sister, Wilma Davis; and brothers, Eugene and Edward Steele.

She is survived by son, Jack L. (Judy) Gooding Jr. of Springfield; daughter-in-law; Mary Gooding of Deer Creek; son, Garry (Sarah) Gooding of Salinas, CA;  five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seventeen step-great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two step great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Private family services were held.  Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
