Obituary

Teresa Ann Brewer, 69, of Rochester, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Teresa was born on June 15, in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of Lyndal Lee and Audrey Ellen (Hainline) Brewer. She was united in marriage to Patrick Aloisius Witcik on May 27, 1978.

Teresa dedicated over 23 years of service to the State of Illinois, holding various positions throughout her career. In her free time, she was an avid quilter and cherished the hours spent quilting alongside her cousin Janis. She also took great pride in planting and tending to the beautiful gardens around her home. Above all, Teresa treasured time with her grandchildren and delighted in showering them with love and affection.

Teresa was deeply committed to service and faith. She was an active member of the International Assist Medical Missions (IAMM), participating in several mission trips to Haiti and the Dominican Republic. She also served faithfully on the IAMM Fundraising Committee for 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Teresa is survived by her devoted husband, Patrick Aloisius Witcik; her children, Jennifer (Joshua) Risley and their daughters, Alexa, Anna, and Grace Risley; Joshua (Alexis) Witcik and their children, Eleanora and Florence; Jason Witcik and his son, Aiden. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. Mike (Sandy) Brewer; her sister, Rebecca Ellen Brewer; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; close friend, George Elder; and her beloved Maltese dogs, Cooper, Max, and Lucy.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 E. Main Street, Rochester.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Jude, 633 S. Walnut Street, Rochester, with Reverend Father Peter Chineke officiating. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Road, Springfield, IL. 62702.

Floral donations on behalf of Teresa's love for flowers are very welcome.
