Susan K. Cousin of Springfield, Illinois passed away on November 19th,2025 surrounded by her loved ones at home. She was born on October 24th,1951 in Springfield, the daughter of Page Creviston and Anna (nee Smith, formerly Creviston) Rhodes, and stepdaughter of Jesse Rhodes. She was the tenth of twelve children. Susan married James M. Cousin on August 18th, 1979.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers John, Jim (Pat), Donald (JoAnn), Russell, Herschel, Mel (Pat), Dave (Karen) Creviston and Jeff (Rhonda) Rhodes; and sisters Joyce (Dickie) Breeding and Delores Creviston; in-laws Vincent (Stella) Cousin Sr. and Vincent (Roberta) Cousin Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, James; three children, Scott (April) Miles, Jessica Miles and James (Becky) Cousin; five grandchildren, Sunnie Miles, Trace (Madi) Miles, Reagan Miles, Mason Cousin and Archer Cousin; brother Steven (Christina) Rhodes; sisters-in-law Patsy, Karen Creviston and Rhonda Rhodes; and Robert (Sherry) Cousin, several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Susan was a graduate of Rochester High School. She worked for Illinois Bell, SBC and AT&T for 30 years. A devoted member of Rochester Christian Church for 46 years, she was also a proud member of Pioneers “Shoe the Kids.”

She was the keeper of family stories, the “go-to person” and the heart of every gathering. She loved spending time with her family, whether at annual family reunions, birthday parties, holidays or casual get-togethers beating her grandchildren at Farkle, always filled with laughter. She cherished her family memories deeply, and her home was truly well lived in and loved in.

Visitation will be held November 25th,2025 from 9:30am-11:30am at Rochester Christian Church in Rochester, Illinois. Funeral services will immediately follow. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
