Steven Edward Ransford

DAWSON, IL - Steven Edward Ransford, 53, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

He was born on Dec. 8, 1960, in Springfield, the son of Charles Edward and Donelda June Fines Ransford. Steven married Lisa L. Vinson. He was the Office Manager for the Village of Rochester. Steven loved all sports and followed the Illini, Chicago Bears, and Rochester Rockets football. He was loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa, of Dawson; a daughter, Megan R. Ransford, of Dawson; a sister, Brenda Murphy (Jim), of N.C.; two uncles, Dale Ransford, of Calif., and William Ransford of Ky.; and two nephews.

Private family graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, January 31, 2014, at the Roselawn Memorial Park in Springfield. A Celebration of Life and luncheon will be held at 2 p.m. at the Springfield Elks Lodge #158 on Friday for all his friends and family members. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Children Hospital. Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester is serving the Ransford family.
