Steven T. Hardy, 62, of Springfield, IL passed away at his home on June 8th, 2020.

Steven was born in Springfield on May 27, 1958 the son of William and Leabelle (O'Neill) Hardy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William & Leabelle Hardy, his sister, Rosemarie Hardy-White, his son, Steven Hardy II, companion, Cathy Gillman, and many aunts and uncles.

Steven is survived by his brother, William Hardy (Toni Tomlovich) of Springfield; his sister, Cynthia Pugh (Chuck) of Troy, IL; close friends Adam, Cari, Connor, & Clara Claussen of Sherman, IL and Marla and David Niemeyer of Sherman, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Steve enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends. He also loved to cook. He spent many hours making his homemade Italian Salad Dressing, Italian Sausage, and his famous Chili Brick. Steve loved spending time with the Claussen's. His Sunday routine was stopping at Mel-O-Cream Donuts to buy donuts and hot chocolate for Connor who was like a grandson to him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 9 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 2477 W. Washington. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. and the service will follow at 11:00 a. m. Masks are required. Pastor Greg Busboom will officiate.
