Sonja Sue Bell

SPRINGFIELD, IL - Sonja Sue Bell, 74, of Springfield, died Sunday, July 12, 2015, at St John's Hospital.

Sonja was born Dec. 26, 1940, in Springfield, the daughter of John David and Hazel N. Swezey Castleman. She married Marvin Bell; he preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 2012.

Sonja worked for Phoenix International as a machine operator where she retired. She enjoyed playing Bingo.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and great-grandson, Ronald Wayne Mercer III.

She is survived by one son, Milo (Patty) Bell; four grandchildren: Kim, Kelly, Marvin and Santana Bell; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
