ILLIOPOLIS, IL - Shirley R. Leka, 73, of Illiopolis, passed peacefully on Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, at St. John's Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Shirley was born April 30, 1942, in Springfield, to the late Arthur "Babe" and Lois Marshall. Shirley married her high school sweetheart, John W. Leka, in June 1959.

Shirley graduated from Tri-City High School. She was a full-time wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping and spending time with family and friends. But her greatest joy of all was her children and grandchildren; she loved them with all her heart.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband, John W. Leka of Illiopolis; son, Martin W. (wife, Sherilyn) Leka of Illiopolis; daughter-in-law, Jackie Leka of Lanesville; five grandchildren: Stephanie Leka, Brian Leka (friend, Arika) both of Illiopolis, Angela Leka of Bloomington, Morgan Leka of Lanesville, Benjamin Leka of Illiopolis; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and son, Michael R. Leka.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home in Mechanicsburg.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at the funeral home with the Rev. C.W. "Butch" Reneker officiating.

Burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be accepted at the funeral home and may be made to: The American Heart Association or the ALS Association.
