Shirley Ann (Hannel) Bown of Springfield entered Heaven on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Villas East in Sherman while in the company of her family.

Shirley was born in Summer Hill, IL on May 27, 1942 the daughter of Myrl and Cassie (Holcomb) Hannel.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alan Bown; parents and great nephew, Brener Hannel.

She is survived by her son, Ronald A. Bown (wife, Carol), two grandsons, Caleb and Brandon; two brothers, C.W. (Dub) Hannel (wife, Ann) and Rodger Hannel (wife, Bonnie), one sister, Dorothy Allgaier (husband, Mike), two nieces; six nephews; and fifteen great nephews and nieces.

Shirley loved spending time with her family, friends, and her church. She enjoyed watching her nephew race and spending time with her grandsons. Shirley also loved collecting lighthouses.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Keppler officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Ridge cemetery
