Sharron K. Schmidt, 79, of Springfield, IL. Passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Sharron was born in Springfield on December 2, 1945, the daughter of Henry "Hank" and Adophia (Loeb) Franz. She married Karl S.H. Schmidt on May 20 1967.

Sharron was an instrumental figure in bringing girl's soccer to Rochester School District. Before retiring, Sharron worked at Sangamon State University and UIS as the Secretary and Assistant to the Dean of Health and Human Services. She enjoyed coaching, birdwatching, being outdoors and spending time with her family and watching her grandkids play sports while they were growing up.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and aunts Lyola, Dorothy and Diamond.

Sharron is survived by her husband, Karl; daughter Kristal (Scott) Madonia; son, Klif Schmidt; three grandchildren Blake, Mady and Sy; as well as one sister, Terry (Bob) Patton of, VA.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St. in Rochester, from 5:00-7:00PM.

Memorial donations may be made to RHS Girl's Soccer Program or the Forever Home Feline Ranch in Rochester.

Cremation was accorded by Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester.
