Obituary

Sarah Ann Chapin, a long-time Rochester resident, passed away on November 21, 2016, in Clearwater, Florida.

Sarah was born in Springfield, Illinois to Roy and Mayme Woollen on April 5, 1934.  She graduated from Rochester High School.  Sarah married the love of her life, Daniel C. Chapin on June 1, 1953.  Together, they had three children, to whom Sarah was a dedicated stay at home mother.  Sarah also obtained her LPN license.  In addition to being devoted to her family, Sarah was a member of the Rochester Women's Club, an active bridge player, an accomplished bowler and an avid traveler.

Sarah is preceded in death by her husband, Dan Chapin, her son, Dennis D. Chapin, Sr. and her brother, Art Woollen.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda (Dan Lynn) Paoli, her son, James (Janice), her daughter-in-law, Marsha, her sister, Sharon Davis, her brother Bill Woollen, her grandchildren, Dennis Chapin, Jr., Denise (John) Neal, Danielle (Douglas) Heath, Elizabeth (Cody) Jackson and Daniel J. Chapin, eight great-grandchildren: Johnny, Cole, Joey, Malachi, Rose, Hunter, Camden and Cameron, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, November 26th from 10:00AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00PM at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester, Reverend Jim Ferrill officiating.  Burial will take place at Rochester Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fischer House Charities, which supports Veterans, a cause about which Sarah was passionate.
