Sandra May (Grant) Stark, 75 of Springfield passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born June 3, 1947 in Springfield, Illinois to Marvin and Helen May (Davis) Grant. She married Daniel Lee Stark on October 28, 1972, in Ashland, Illinois.

She graduated Valedictorian from Pleasant Plains High School in 1965. She later went to Western Illinois University majoring in English with a minor in Library Science, graduating in 1970. She worked for the State of Illinois for over 40 years at the Historical Library, which later became the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and dogs. Her hobbies included bowling, crocheting and reading.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Rich Grant and sister Donna (Grant)

She is survived by her husband of 50+ years, Dan; daughter Amy Simpson; grandchildren Alexis Stark, Andrew Stark and Emily Simpson; Siblings Bill (Sue) Grant, John (Joan) Grant, Ron Grant, Connie (Dale) Draughan, Steve (Marylyn) Grant, Brenda (Mike) Neuman; Several nieces, nephews and cousins; Dogs Presley and Holly

A visitation will be held on Wednesday May 10, 2023 at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home, 530 North 5th St. Springfield, IL 62702. Visitation will be from 10:00am till 11:00am. The funeral service will follow the visitation at Pleasant Plains Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made the American Cancer Society.
