SPRINGFIELD, IL - Ruth Ann Lemme, 78, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016 at the Bickford House.

Ruth was born on July 19, 1937 in Virginia, IL the daughter of Harmon and Alma Hood Sours.

She had worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections at the academy as a trainer (CAT2) where she later retired. She was a volunteer at Waggin Tails, Animal Protective League.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by three sons, Clayt Lemme of Riva, MD, Kent Lemme of Hudson, FL, and Marshall Lemme of Chicago; three brothers, Carlos Sours of Springfield, Harmon Sours Jr. of Springfield and Thomas Sours of New Berlin; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Cremation will be accorded and memorial services will be on May 21, 2016 at Rochester Cemetery with Reverend Sam Jansen officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League.
