Ruby Ann Eldred, 81, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center.

Ruby was born on November 23, 1935 in Marshall, MO the daughter of Markus P. and Ruby L. Sumner Johnston.  She married Stuart C. Eldred on August 28, 1954 in Kansas City, MO.

She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She enjoyed cooking and traveling and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Stuart; two sons, Markus P. (Jacque) Eldred of Pueblo West, CO and Darrell W. (Lomonia) Eldred of Argenta, IL; brother, Marcus Gerald (Connie G.) Johnston of Kansas City, MO; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Chaplain Gary Krowder officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
