Roy E. "Chip" Malone, 52, of Springfield, died Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center.
Chip was born on May 1, 1963, in Jacksonville, the son of George Owen and Wanda Flynn Malone. He married Mary Perry in November 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant grandson, Bryton.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Malone; children, Zachary Malone, Marcus Etcheson, Bobbie Overby and Timothy Banister; grandchildren, Elaina, Lance, Kira, Samantha, Lyndsay, Jackson, Kaitelyn and Arora; siblings, Carmen Bruner, Georgia Heath, Edward Malone, Shelly Malone, Denice Miner, Kathy Malone, Jackie Ramirez and Kerry Malone; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation was accorded by Springfield Crematory. There will be a celebration of life 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the American Legion in Mount Pulaski.
