Ronald Alan McDaniel, 59, of Hermann, MO passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Frene Valley Health Facility of Hermann after a long battle with cancer.

He was born June 25, 1956 in Canton, IL the son of John Otha and Velma Marie McDaniel and they preceded him in death.  Also preceding were two sisters and four brothers.

Ron went to school in Easton. IL and lived in the Mason County area for many years. He then traveled extensively and learned the carpentry trade while in Texas. This profession allowed him to design and build one-of-a-kind projects, mostly as requested by individuals. He collected Route 66 mementos and enjoyed fishing, growing tomatoes, assembling unique model cars, and tinkering with motor scooters

Surviving are his daughters, Jessica Simpson and Alicia Rhodes, both of Illinois; six grandchildren; four sisters, Donna (Harold, deceased) Henrichsmeyer and Louise (Bob) Todd, both of Illinois,  Nadine (Dale) Phelps of  Indiana, and Mary (Steve) Sears of Hermann,  MO; many nieces and nephews, and his little dog. Roscoe, who will stay in the family.

Cremation was accorded and a small private service was held in Missouri, led by Pastor Rawlings of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church of Hermann.
