Ronald G. Brest, 80, of Springfield, IL, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022. He was born January 6, 1942, in Springfield, IL, the son of Harold J. Brest and Grace Dexheimer. He married Judith I. Sargent on March 1, 1963. She survives him.

Ron retired from Bunn-O-Matic as a press operator. He loved the Chicago Cubs, but he also enjoyed fishing, drag racing, and watching NASCAR. Ron also enjoyed spending time as a HAM Radio Operator.

He was proceeded in death by his two sons, Ronnie and David.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Tina (Bill) LaMasters, Lori Bozarth, and Cherry (Jim) Miiddleton; two brothers, David and Mark Brest; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Cremation services are being accorded and a private gathering is being held. Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to the Animal Protective League in Springfield.
