Ronald "Gene" Canaday, 75, of Girard, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Village in Girard.

Gene was born on December 21, 1941 in Clinton, IN the son of John and Martha Yocum Canaday.  He married Lenora Fuess on February 14, 1965.

Gene worked for Fiat Allis for 23 years and later as a freight loader for ABF Freight Company.  He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and enjoyed golfing and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, John and Richard.

He is survived by his wife, Lenora Canaday of Auburn; two sons, Sean (Amy) Canaday of Auburn and Chad (Lynn) Canaday of Johnsburg; three grandchildren, Sam, Harrison and Ellie; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation will be accorded.  Services will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the National Parkinson Foundation.
