Roger D. Embrey Sr., 78 of Illiopolis, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at St. John's Hospital.

Roger was born on May 27, 1941 in Niantic the son of George and Alice Young Embrey.  He married Sandra Kay Clark on July 8, 1961; she preceded him in death on February 9, 2019.

Roger was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Tommy House Tire Company.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, fishing and hunting.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Larry Dennison; three sisters, Viola Embrey, Charlotte Connors, and Margaret "Peg" Mathias; three brothers; George Embrey, Thomas Embrey and John Embrey.

He is survived by four children, Roger (Melody) Embrey Jr., Dawn Dennison, Robin (Danny) Weber, and Shannon (Jay) Baker; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Embrey Sr.; three sisters, Stella Witts, Dorothy Dinger and Linda Collins.

Memorial services for both Roger and Sandra will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Community of Christ Church, 5655 Union School Road, Decatur.  Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
