Roberta Diane Ross, 72, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, May 26,2022 at OSF in Peoria. The daughter of Robert D. and Velma (Mackey) Ross was born on June 29,1949 in Great Bend, Kansas. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1967. Attending Eastern Illinois University, she received a double major in Journalism and English with a double minor in History and Music. She later received a Master's Degree from Sangamon State. Diane maintained an office at the State House from where she was a legislative correspondent. Her articles were found in newspapers statewide. She also wrote for Illinois Issues magazine. She enjoyed both playing piano and teaching music lessons. Diane was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother Dr. Randy (Karan) Ross. According to her wishes, cremation was provided by Park Funeral Homes and a graveside service will be held at a later date.
