Robert J. Wieberg, 93, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Sarah (Twehaus) Wieberg, one son, Robert J. Wieberg, II, of Fredericktown, one daughter, Rebecca (Sam) Turner, of Springfield, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Wieberg.

Born in Argyle, MO, to parents Frank & Katie Wieberg, Bob was one of 15 children.

Before joining the service in 1943, where he served with the 183rd Ordnance Division and was honorably discharged in 1946, Bob worked as a farm hand in the St. Thomas, Mo, area.

After returning from the war, Bob and Sarah settled in St. Louis, where they raised their family. Bob spent most of his career working at Keuffel & Esser, a drafting instrument and supplies company. After retiring, they moved to Springfield, IL.

Bob enjoyed bowling, accumulating many first place and high score trophies, and working on mechanical projects in his garage. Always good with numbers and math, he enjoyed working number puzzles in his later years.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 12:00 Noon on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Ring officiating.  Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors.
