It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Paul Long, who left us peacefully at home on August 9th, 2026, with his beloved canine companion, Dozer, by his side.
Robert was born on January 6, 1986, in Springfield, Illinois to Rosemary Armes and the late Robert L. Long. He was preceded in death by his father, his grandmothers Audrey Pratt and Carol Robertson, Cousin Angela Eagan and his Uncle Mike Long. He leaves behind his devoted mother, Rosemary, and his loving sisters, Alexis Armes and Audrey Moore. Robert was also adored by his aunts Paula Moore and Libby D. Foster, as well as a "harem" of girl cousins — Jessica, Heather, and Ashley — whom he loved "to the moon and back." His nieces Olivia Rose (baby girls) Vivian Grace and his dog son Dozer. A graduate of District 186 schools and Parkland Community College,
Through Roberts hard work, he spent his work career life contributing to County Materials, Precision Auto and most recently Bunn Capitol. Robert found peace in the great outdoors, where he loved to fish and camp whenever the opportunity arose. His weekends were often spent exploring garage sales and resale shops where he discovered treasures and tinkering in his garage A fan of all music, he loved 80's Rock and Country Music.

Visitation will be held on Sunday August 16, 2026 at Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street, Rochester, IL 62563 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Private graveside services will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery where Robert will be laid to rest.
