Robert L. "Bobby" Barnard, 55, of Marion, IN, formerly of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Marion General Hospital.

Bobby was born on September 4, 1961, in Springfield, the son of Arthur L. and Dorothy J. Woodson Barnard.

Bobby attended St. Agnes School and Springfield High School.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was station onboard the USS Spruance.  He later became a certified plumber and worked on small engines.  There wasn't a task that he couldn't do.  He really enjoyed fishing, cooking, and being around his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William "Big Bill"; two sisters, Diana L. and Mary Michelle; and a niece, Ginny Hicks-Tumulty.

He is survived by one son, Mickey Barnard of Springfield; two grandchildren; eight siblings, Beverly Dorworth-Monda of SC, Vicki Hicks of FL, Thomas (Phyllis) Barnard of Edinburg, John Barnard of FL, Rich (Maris) Barnard, Frank (Jenny) Barnard, Shaun Daugherty Barnard and Terry Barnard all of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September, 13 2017 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Reverend Larry Hanson officiating.
