Richard F. Wussler, 77, of Rochester, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Carriage Crossing in Rochester, IL.
Richard was born on March 30, 1946, in St. Charles, MO., the son of Edgar and Bertha (Mueller) Wussler. He proudly served as a Sergeant the United States Marine Corp from 1966- 1972 during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of a Combat Action Ribbon. Richard was a member of the American Legion and VFW Post 1753 in Las Vegas, NV, as well as the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association. Richard was proud to say that in his 17 years managing an Aircraft Shop that nobody was ever injured or hurt on the job. He loved golfing, fishing and spending time with his grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald Wussler.
Richard is survived by his children, Pamela (Ian) Harvey and Angela (J.C.) Clarke; grandchildren, Ethan Camdyn, and Devin Clarke and Mallory, Abby and Ellie Harvey; one brother, Alfred (Jerry) Wussler; and sisters, Lorita (Eugene) Thornhill and Sister Marilyn Wussler, School Sister of Notre Dame; as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 4, 2023 from 11:00AM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00PM at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester, IL.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery at 2:00PM with military rites performed by the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
Memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children's Hospital or the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation.
